Sonia is passionate and committed to helping others. She naturally is a connector who loves bringing people together. Growing up she found herself in the middle of planning fun and memorable events for family and friends including weddings, showers, stags, fundraisers, birthday and corporate functions while working as an occasional teacher.
In 2001 she graduated from Georgian college with a diploma in Hospitality and Event Planning gaining her first gig at Fiesta Americana hotel in Monterrey Mexico as the event coordinator. From there she obtained a degree in Sociology and BED in education at York University.
Through the years she worked on numerous events and fundraisers where she gained experience planning and coordinating, building contacts along the way. She started dancing when she was 6 years old in Ballet, Jazz and Latin. Her love for dance and music pushed her to audition in a Latin dance group where she got the opportunity to dance on stage at festivals including, Carassauga and Brazil Fest. Performing led her to connect with Toronto’s top entertainers in the dance and music industry. Creating ideas and bringing them to life fuels her passion. She is a problem solver and expert at building positive rapports with clients.
Seeing the joy and creating lasting memories is the main reason she loves working on events. She is able to spice up any event and her ability to remain calm and flexible while multitasking makes Sonia an exceptional event planner.
